Justin Bieber is reportedly set to travel to sub-orbital space after purchasing himself and his manager a ticket on board Richard Branson and Virgin Galactics space-tourism venture, SpaceShipTwo, costing a whopping $250,000 a seat!

Bieber then teased about shooting a music video while in space, but he has been beaten to be the first to do so recently by astronaut Captain Chris Hadfield who shot a cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” while aboard the Internatonal Space Station.

The SpaceShipTwo craft, is currently undergoing significant testing and making good progress on its rocket propulsion and landing systems. Virgin Galactic hope that SpaceShipTwo will be able to carry passengers into sub-orbital space (60+ miles above the Earth) before descending back down to land. Branson’s company hopes to start making passenger flights this year however given the history of delays that seems unlikely.

We can only hope that should Bieber make it into space any time soon, that somewhere out there, there is intelligent life willing to take him a couple of billion lightyears away for probing or he drifts off into space and into the depths of a black hole. Maybe he can take a couple more of his pop-star mates too? Our ears and music industry would be all the better for it.
